“I started my culinary career as a chef at age 5, with my first restaurant under the kitchen table thanks to my very patient and creative parents.
Today, I am a French-trained chef. I studied as an Apprentice in Paris at La Varenne, Ecole de Cuisine. After many years of traveling and cooking, my husband, Michael, and I came to Virginia Beach to be closer to our large, extended family and continue our pursuit of creating culinary delights.
Cooking and creating the perfect event continues to be my passion and purpose. I’m well-received and successful at what I do because I am 100% hands on with my work and love working with people. The quality of our foods and our integrity set our business apart from the competition.

Giving Back to the Community
Chef Catherine Gettier and Catherine’s Catering believe heavily in community involvement here in Hampton Roads.
Catherine’s Catering actively supports Virginia Beach Public Schools. In addition to feeding the golfers lunch and dinner at their yearly golf fundraiser, they support teachers, students, PTA and Partners in Education through donated breakfasts, lunches and gift certificates.
We underwrite a grant every year for one of the public schools, and we also give a scholarship every year to a Virginia Beach student. I also served on the Board for The Beach House for over 10 years, this is an organization that helps integrate people back into the workforce.
I continue to work with local companies and help cater for charity events.”
